This is the tree that my pieces are on. Mine is the green and pink stripe in a rib pattern and the blue square below it.There is also a very large light blue square on the base of the tree that I knit.

Last night I went and met a few ladies and we stitched knit and crocheted squares together for a yarn bombing project in the park. The tree cozies are going up on Saturday morning.
I will post pictures when I go check it out.
Here is the link to the project. http://www.ravelry.com/groups/yarn-bomb-colorado-springs/pages/Acacia-Park-Tree-Cozies-update-6-1-11
There were 300 individual pieces contributed by 32 people. "Cozies" for 6 trees were stitched together by 9 people in about 9 hours.

Last weekend I worked an Alpaca show. I do security work on the weekends and at night for different shows around Denver and Colorado Springs. I was working the Alpaca show at night in Denver at National Western Complex. In the middle of my shift the fire alarms went off and the poor Alpaca's started jumping up and down. Good thing it was just a false alarm.

I was making another pair of fingerless mitts and decided to think about what Cookie A taught us in her sock class about designing your own patterns. I like to have a pair of fingerless mitts to put in my bag as a small knitting project that is mindless to work on.
I made up the pattern stitch on these as I went along. The yarn is from my Mothers LYS in Santa Rosa. It is Cascade 220, a superwash painted yarn.
Here is the pattern
I used size 7 dpn needles
Cast on 44 stitches
I worked a knit 3, purl 1 rib for 2 inches
I decreased 4 evenly spaced around the mitt
**pattern portion starts here**
I worked knit 2, purl 2 for 4 rows
Then purl 2, knit 2 for 4 rows
I alternated the pattern portion for 6 1/2 inches and added a 6 stitch button hole for the thumb.
I continued on with the pattern portion for1 1/2 more inches.
Then I decreased 4 more stitches evenly spaced around the mitt.
I picked up with the knit 3, purl 1 rib for 1 more inch and then bound off.
I keep hearing people talking about these project bags and I had to order one. I love my little black sheep project bag. It is large enough to hold a large knitting project. If you would like to purchase one of her bags just go to her Etsy site here.

I picked up this yarn from a yarn shop in Santa Rosa. I was at home with my mom after I went to Stitches West. She wanted to show me her LYS (Local Yarn Store). It was a wonderful store called Cast Away on 4th street. I picked out two skeins of yarn one pink and one blue. These were perfect pink princess mitts. I finished them up while working the D*sney on Ice show.

Happy St. Patrick's Day here are my green mitts I made to wear today.
I knit the first one and lost the yarn I used to stripe it with. It must have fallen out of my bag. So I had to go back to the yarn shop and get another skein of yarn to finish the other mitt.
I made stripes to begin with to add length to the mitts. I was afraid they would not be long enough without the stripes. They turned out very long, so I would have been fine without the stripes in the end.
I only had one skein of the Plucky Knitter Yarn in this colorway. I love the colors she dyes they are wonderful.
Here are a pair of fingerless mitts I made from yarn I purchased at the local yarn shop. (Knitters Cove)
I left it behind on my first visit to the shop. I stopped by to get some more of the blue yarn I used to stripe the Plucky Knitter mitts. I found this yarn was still there calling my name.

Here is what I brought home from Stitches West. Some of it was purchased, some of it was free, and my Mom gave me sock yarn and the Knit Sock Love book. We had Cookie A. sign it in the class we took with her.
Here is a headband my friend picked up somewhere I am currently working on reproducing. I worked at the Denver Boat and RV show this weekend and saw many of these for sale at a hat booth.
They all looked very similar to this one.

I just finished this pair of hand knit slippers. I realized that I had never made myself a pair. My Mother and I are going to a PJ party at Stitches West and I was reading that everyone was going to wear hand knit slippers.

I have never made preemie baby hats before. In February I am going to Stitches West in California with my Mom. I am making some preemie hats for donation for the Knitmore Girls. I believe they are making them for a local hospital.
I made some curtains for the area over the bathtub. I am not quite sure why there are two large windows over the bathtub. I can't think of a time when I would want to sit nude in the tub and have the curtains open.
