Fingerless Mitts Pattern

Fingerless Mitts

I made up the pattern stitch on these as I went along. The yarn is from my Mothers LYS in Santa Rosa. It is Cascade 220, a superwash painted yarn.

Here is the pattern
I used size 7 dpn needles
Cast on 44 stitches
I worked a knit 3, purl 1 rib for 2 inches
I decreased 4 evenly spaced around the mitt
**pattern portion starts here**
I worked knit 2, purl 2 for 4 rows
Then purl 2, knit 2 for 4 rows
I alternated the pattern portion for 6 1/2 inches and added a 6 stitch button hole for the thumb.
I continued on with the pattern portion for1 1/2 more inches.
Then I decreased 4 more stitches evenly spaced around the mitt.
I picked up with the knit 3, purl 1 rib for 1 more inch and then bound off.

Piddleloop Large Wedge Bag

I keep hearing people talking about these project bags and I had to order one. I love my little black sheep project bag. It is large enough to hold a large knitting project. If you would like to purchase one of her bags just go to her Etsy site here.

D*sney on Ice Mitts

I picked up this yarn from a yarn shop in Santa Rosa. I was at home with my mom after I went to Stitches West. She wanted to show me her LYS (Local Yarn Store). It was a wonderful store called Cast Away on 4th street. I picked out two skeins of yarn one pink and one blue. These were perfect pink princess mitts. I finished them up while working the D*sney on Ice show.

Plucky Knitter Yarn Fingerless Mitts

Plucky Knitter Yarn Fingerless Mitts

Happy St. Patrick's Day here are my green mitts I made to wear today.
I knit the first one and lost the yarn I used to stripe it with. It must have fallen out of my bag. So I had to go back to the yarn shop and get another skein of yarn to finish the other mitt.
I made stripes to begin with to add length to the mitts. I was afraid they would not be long enough without the stripes. They turned out very long, so I would have been fine without the stripes in the end.
I only had one skein of the Plucky Knitter Yarn in this colorway. I love the colors she dyes they are wonderful.

I left it behind on my first visit to the shop. I stopped by to get some more of the blue yarn I used to stripe the Plucky Knitter mitts. I found this yarn was still there calling my name.

It is crocheted and looks adorable when Brandi wears it.

They all looked very similar to this one.
