Flower Exchange on Swap-bot

I just got this flower exchange from my Swap-bot partner. I love it. She hand dyed all of the yarn. Oh my how special is hand dyed yarn. All of the time that takes. All of the rinsing and drying time.I really appriciate all the work my partner Timiae put into my exchange.

I wanted to add the link from the lady who sent me this exchange.

Meade Telescope

A close up of the base. I think the thing is about 2 inches taller than me. If you know me you would know I am 6ft 2in tall. I am wondering how we are going to tote this thing around to different locations? I am sure it will be interesting.

Jeremiahs new toy

Its rainy out side and I couldn't get enough light in the room for a good photo.
When the boxes arrived I thought it might be a wee bigger than I imagined. After seeing it put together I know that it is alot larger than I thought it would be.
We have not looked through it yet. Maybe this weekend.

Aebleskiver

Æbleskiver are cooked by frying in a special pan wíth several hemi-spherical indentations in the bottom of the pan. The pan exists in versions for gas and electrical stoves (the latter with a plain bottom). Pans are usually heavy, allowing good heat conduction, and often made of cast iron. Traditional models in hammered copper plate exist but are today used exclusively for decoration. Æbleskive pans can be purchased at some internet stores, and they are often found at antique shops mislabeled as egg poaching pans.

Here is a link on them http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%86bleskiver
My mom sent me a pan a few months ago that she ordered from Williams-Sonoma at http://www.williams-sonoma.com/srch/index.cfm?words=aebleskiver

Here's how I made them
I took pancake mix and and added egg, milk, almond flavoring, cinnamon, ICBN spray butter for flavoring and vanilla SF syrup from Starbucks. (that was just the batter)
Then I poured it in the pan and put the above sugar free applesauce in the middle of each one while cooking.
Then I took some of the applesauce and mixed pancake syrup, heated it and poured it over the top.
I made Jeremiah some with Sugar Free strawberry jam last weekend and I think Strawberry might be his favorite flavor.

I finally finished the hankie. They seem to take alot of time if I add a crochet edging. But they are so cute. I just think I would be excited for someone to send me a homemade hankie with my name embroidered on it. It would be special to me.
I love to make them.

Heater-and-Gem

Heater is the team mascot. He was doing all sorts of things to entertain everyone. All the kiddos loved him.

Dayton Dragons baseball anyone?

Last night we went to sit with Jeremiah's work at the game. It was a bit cold outside. I brought a blanket so I was pretty warm. I several people from his work and I had a soft pretzel for dinner. We ended up leaving while the game was still tied. But I heard we ended up loosing. (Darn!)
All in all it was fun.

The Sea of bags

I have been working on making these bags for the past few weeks. I still need to line a few of them. They are so cute I love them!
I just thought I would take a picture so you could see what I have been up to.
Tonight we are going to the baseball game I plan to take pictures and blog about them.
I hope the weather is nice tonight.

Little wrist strap bag

I finished this little bag last night while watching the Deadliest Catch last night on TV.
I had been working on it on my lunch break at work this week.

Our Townhouse

Here we are back at our place. I hope you have enjoyed the walk around our neighborhood as much as I did.
Marie :)

More Spring over here

Another view from the bench.

Wexford grounds and Beaver Creek Golf Course

Further along on the walk there is this bench I some times stop at and take a look around. I think it is really pretty here.

more signs of Spring

The second pond

This is the second pond. No swans live here.

Spring - here it is

The Swans

Here is the couple that are always together.

Wexford grounds and Beaver Creek Golf Course

This is where the swans live.

swan crossing

Swans? I thought how odd. But I like to walk down and see what they are doing. There are a couple that have been around a long time. Then there is a new one that sits by herself alot.

Wexford grounds and Beaver Creek Golf Course

As I walk down to the mail box I come across hole #14 of the course.
This is where sometimes the golf carts come across the road quickly.

Wexford grounds and Beaver Creek Golf Course

I thought I would take a walk around the grounds where we live and look for signs of Spring. It was kind of a cold and rainy afternoon.

my chocolate peanut butter oatmeal

This may seem odd but I like to make this.
1/2 cup oats
1 cup to 3/4 cup water
2 tbl cocoa powder unsweetened
1 package sugar free hot chocolate mix (the 25 calorie kind)
splenda to taste
Nuke that for 3 minutes or longer if you need to. I usually use a 4 cup pyrex measuring cup for the cooking since it has a tendancy to boil over in the microwave.
Then I use PB2

http://www.bellplantation.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=BP&Product_Code=PB2-4&Category_Code=

to make a peanut butter and water mixture for the topping. It is a great product I found I mail order it from the bell plantation in Georgia.
It is low fat, low cal. peanut butter.
My favorite breakfast :)

Earth Day dishcloth exchange - Ravelry

week #7 dishcloth exchange
Originally uploaded by whirledpeas00

Last night I got home from work and the gym and found this package had been delivered. It is always fun to get an exchange in the mail. Cynthia made these dishcloths and a scrubbie for me. She said the patterns were hard and they took a long time. I am sure they did by looking at them. The blue one has flowers in a row as a background in it. I love them in honor of Earth Day.

Dayton Dragons

Last night Jeremiah brought home tickets to a baseball game for next Saturday. I hear it is a work event. So maybe we will meet some co-workers and their wives. I will take a few pictures to post after the game.

tawashi swap

This is the first swap I have received from the Tawashi Town group on Ravelry.
It is such a nice treat to get a special package like this in the mail.
Jane did a great job on her knitting!

crochet bag

I wanted to show the inside of the bag I have just finished. I do think they are much more finished looking if you line them.

Marie's mesh shopping bag

I have been making these shopping bags. I currently have four I am using for weekly shopping. I just finished this one. I decided I would post a picture and try to write up the pattern. I made it up using different things I liked from many other bags I found on the net. I like the closed bottom. It seems better while shopping. I have tested the finished bags out for at least the past 8 months or so. This is my final bag that I am happy with actually using at the market.

Earth Day Exchange - Ravelry

Earth Day Exchange - Ravelry

I am doing an Earth Day Exchange in Ravelry. I had no idea what to make for my partner Cynthia. I thought it should match so this is what I came up with. I made one knit and one crochet dishcloth and a hankie. I hope she likes it.

summer dress hemmed

I had ripped out the bottom button on this dress. You know when your dress is long and gets tangled in your legs. I almost tossed it. But it had such pretty embroidery on it so I cut it short. A lady at the local JoAnns fabric helped me with how to fix it. I also added a ruffle on it. I have it on now. I think it turned out ok for an around the house summer dress.

crocheted bag - lined

I have been having some trouble with the internet lately. I finally got things fixed so I could post a few projects. I made this crocheted bag. It is made from 2 strands of yarn. I lined it with a retro green fabric. This is my first attempt at crocheting and lining a little bag. Here is the original pattern I used to make my bag. http://patternsbydot.blogspot.com/2006/02/little-gadabout-bag.html
I love it.
